Homemade Ketchup

Ingredients

  • 6 oz low sodium tomato paste
  • 4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup water (may vary based on your desired consistency)

Preparation

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients except water and cook over medium heat until the vinegar begins to simmer and evaporate.
  2. Stir continuously to prevent burning. Slowly add ¼ of the water into the pan while stirring. Continue to add water gradually until you’ve reached your desired consistency.
  3. Store in the fridge and use within one month.
